Catechesis
The purpose of the Profession of Faith or Creed is that the whole gathered people, including the Priest, may respond to the Word of God proclaimed in the readings taken from Sacred Scripture and explained in the Homily and that they may also honour and confess the great mysteries of the faith by pronouncing the rule of faith before the celebration of these mysteries in the Liturgy of the Eucharist begins. In the Prayer of the Faithful, the people respond in some sense to the Word of God which they have received in faith and, exercising the office of their baptismal priesthood, offer prayers to God for the salvation of all. The Prayer includes intentions for the needs of the Church, for public authorities and the salvation of the whole world, for those burdened by any kind of difficulty and for the local community.
a peaceful and Prosperous New Year to you all.
Please pray for Michael Ryan (former Sacristan), Mary Duff and Deirdre McGovern recently deceased and for those whose anniversaries occur around this time.
MAY THE SOULS OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD REST IN PEACE. AMEN

Michael Ryan R.I.P. Former Sacristan at HFP church
Michael Ryan came to work as sacristan here in 2002 when the late Fr. Martin Tierney was the Parish Priest. Michael worked here until he retired in 2020. Michael passed away on 2nd January 2024. Michael was much loved, respected and appreciated by all during his time at Holy Family for his kindness and for his helpfulness. May he rest in peace. Our condolences to his wife, Bernie, and to Michael’s family and friends.

Introduction to Servant Leadership course
The Office of Mission & Ministry is running the Introduction to Servant Leadership course again during the coming year. It is aimed at members of PPCs and those with a parish ministry – but all are welcome. The course requires participants to attend three sessions on Zoom (consecutive Tuesdays from 7.30pm to 9pm) AND ALSO a Saturday session in person (from 10.00am to 2pm). Sessions are a mixture of input, discussion and reflection exploring what Servant Leadership is and how we might grow this ministry. For more information, please contact peter.siney@dublindiocese.ie.
