Building Hope – Pastoral Strategic Planning Resource 2025-2027 was launched on 25 September by the Archbishop at a dedicated Planning Workshop for Bishop Roche’s Pastoral Area at Johnstown Killiney. The Building Hope Planning Workshop was arranged in conjunction with the publication of the Building Hope Pastoral Strategic Planning Resource 2025–2027, as outlined in Archbishop Farrell’s recent Pastoral Letter ‘Building Hope with Open Hearts’ reminds us that ‘Our faith calls us to open our hearts, not only to renewing our own commitment to Christ, but to rediscovering our parishes and partnerships of parishes as places of mission.’ You will hear more about this in the near future.
The Archbishop’s pastoral letters and homilies are available on the diocesan website dublindiocese.ie
There will be a Vocations Day “Exploring Priesthood” on Saturday, October 12, in UCD, Belfield, Dublin 4, for men who wish to find out more about diocesan priesthood and how they may take steps to discern a vocation. Further information can be found at vocations.ie
Prayer for Building Hope
May we open our hearts, inviting the Spirit to guide our every action, awakening and enlivening us as we build hope together across the Archdiocese.
The Synod of Bishops 2024 meets in Rome
The Synod is a time of prayer, “it is not a convention,” but an “ecclesial assembly that prays,” a time for listening to the Word of God and the Spirit, and an opportunity to implore forgiveness from God for the Church’s sins. The second session of the Synod of Bishops, is being held in Rome from October 2 to 27. Pope Francis, emphasized that “the main protagonist of the Synod is the Holy Spirit.”
Copies of the current Synod newsletter 2024 are available near the exit.

Thank you for your ongoing generous support of the dues & the two weekly diocesan collections, 1st & 2nd & your contributions in support of the Parish. These are the Family offerings, direct debit contributions & other donations upon which the upkeep of the parish totally depends. Thank you for your generosity.
Pope Francis on the Environment –
In his encyclical on the environment Pope Francis has declared that the science of climate change is clear and that the Catholic Church views climate change as a moral issue that must be addressed in order to protect the Earth and everyone on it. That means us in this parish. Can you do more? One practical way you could is to take part in our parish environmental group; for details contact the parish office.
