ELEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Our modern world acclaims the new and the immediate experience; instant products sell best.  Now! And New! Are great advertising slogans.  In a fast-changing society, it would seem that the Church moves too slowly for many today.  The parables of growth in the Gospel remind us that God’s power is at work in us through our prayer and patience, and in that way will generate the development of the Kingdom of Christ.

Communication re: First Confession, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation

Sadly, the spread of the Coronavirus upset plans to celebrate the sacraments of First Confession, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation last year.  The same has happened again this year.

Archbishop Dermot Farrell has advised all parishes to postpone plans for these great sacraments until the autumn.  There is continuing concern about the spread of the virus, especially in social gatherings which usually follow these celebrations.  Please God, we can plan for these sacraments after the summer holidays, starting in September, probably for small groups.  We will follow public health guidelines.

VINCENT DE PAUL

The Monthly collection for St. Vincent de Paul will take place at all the Masses next weekend 19 and 20 June 2021.  The Conference would like to thank sincerely all those who continue to support it during lockdown by donating online and leaving donations at the Parish Office.  Your generosity has allowed us to maintain our assistance to families in need in the parish.
