Mission Statement
Our Parish seeks to live as a family – supporting one another, open to all comers, and building a community where each person feels wanted and cared for. To make this happen, we will work to grow in holiness through prayer and service and we will try to show God’s love in our daily lives.
From the Archbishop’s desk
“I am struck by the phrase from the Letter to the Romans offered to us in the First Sunday of Advent liturgy: ‘You know “the time” has come: you must wake up now; our salvation is even nearer than when we were converted.’ (Romans 13:11). Jesus in the Gospel, reflecting on the second coming of the Son of Man, asks us all to stand ready (see Matthew 24:44).
In every generation we are asked to be ready, recognising the salvation offered in Christ Jesus, on fire with his Spirit, proclaiming the Gospel in every season, finding new ways to witness to the presence and power of Christ in our own lives and to the people of our time.”_ Advent Pastoral letter of Archbishop Dermot Farrell.
Evening Prayer of the Church 7.00 p.m. in the Church on Mondays during Advent, 28th November, 5th December, 12th December. Your prayers are requested for the souls of Sean Hinch, Derek Wynne, Fr. Mícheál Hastings, and Bishop Martin Drennan and Joseph McKeever who died recently, and for Ann-Marie Hennessy and Colin Beggs whose anniversary occurs around this time.
Bishop Martin Drennan, Bishop Emeritus of Galway, was an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Dublin from 1997 to 2005.
