Catechesis
The Liturgy of the Word should be celebrated in such a way as to favour meditation, and so any kind of haste which hinders recollection is clearly to be avoided. In the course of it, brief periods of silence are also appropriate, accommodated to the assembled congregation; by means of these, under the action of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God may be grasped by the heart and a response through prayer may be prepared. It may be appropriate to observe such periods of silence, for example, before the Liturgy of the Word itself begins, after the First and Second Reading, and lastly at the conclusion of the Homily.
Please pray for George Peterson & Pat Hayes, and Amber Tallant recently deceased and for, Bridie Reily whose anniversary occurs around this time.
MAY THE SOULS OF ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED THROUGH THE MERCY OF GOD REST IN PEACE. AMEN

A word from Pope Francis about our care for God's Creation- Laudate Deum - “If there is sincere interest in making COP28 a historic event that honours and ennobles us as human beings, then one can only hope for binding forms of energy transition that meet three conditions: that they be efficient, obligatory, and readily monitored.” (LD, 59)

Introduction to Servant Leadership course
The Office of Mission & Ministry is running the Introduction to Servant Leadership course again during the coming year. It is aimed at members of PPCs and those with a parish ministry – but all are welcome. The course requires participants to attend three sessions on Zoom (consecutive Tuesdays from 7.30pm to 9pm) AND ALSO a Saturday session in person (from 10.00am to 2pm). Sessions are a mixture of input, discussion and reflection exploring what Servant Leadership is and how we might grow this ministry. For more information, please contact peter.siney@dublindiocese.ie.
